CL Smooth Returns With New Album
“American Me is about misconceptions. It ‘s about the things people say, the things people perceive, right or wrong it’s about the speculations that we force on each other,” Smooth said via a press release statement sent to Vibe.com. “I am spelling it out, politically and personally. I’m bringing the real deal, in spite of everyone and everything else. My lyricism isn’t about brute force; instead it showcases what I’ve come up against and why I’m still here.”
Earlier in the year Smooth released a freestyle named the, “Multi Bars of Fury,” which former controversial Power 105.1 radio station host Star put into heavy rotation.
right CL Smooth, a Mt. Vernon, New York native, became known for his deft lyrics on tracks like “I’ll Take You There,” “They Reminisce Over You (T.R.O.Y.)” and “Straighten It Out.”
CL Smooth’s, American Me LP will be released on Shaman Work Recordings.
