"I am thrilled to be coming home,” said Lil’ Kim, via a press release statement through her rep. “I thank all my fans for all their letters, as well as my family and friends for all their support throughout the past ten months.”
After being convicted of perjury over a 2001 shooting incident involving her entourage and the crew of
Capone-N-Noreaga outside of the New York City-based radio station,
Hot 97, Kim was sentenced to 366 days in prison. She began serving her sentence in Sept. 2005. At that time, Kim’s entertainment attorney
L. Londell McMillan, indicated that Kim could be released early if she exhibited good behavior.
right She did just that. After exhibiting model behavior in prison, Kim was granted an early exit from Philadelphia's
Federal Detention Center. Kim is now scheduled to be released Monday morning between 6 and 10 a.m.
Kim will reportedly head straight to an undisclosed New Jersey location for processing, after her release. The Brooklyn-bred rap star will then begin a month’s worth of house arrest.
"We are pleased that Kim is coming home to start the next phase of her life. She has accepted responsibility and handled herself in an exemplary manner." says McMillan.
