right J. Period hopes to have The Roots mixtape finished by next Wednesday (July 19), with a tentative release to follow in the last week of the month. The Roots
Game Theory album is scheduled for an Aug. 29 release on
Def Jam.
The talented J. Period revealed that upon hearing the comprehensive Hill mixtape, ?uestlove promised him only “exclusive sh*t,” as the renowned drummer wanted The Roots compilation to be the best yet.
In related news, the July 4 release of J. Period’s, Official Kevin Powell for Congress Mixtape, Powell For The People Vol. 1: It’s Bigger Than Hip Hop was pushed back indefinitely, as Powell decided to postpone his own run for congress.
Meanwhile, in addition to The Roots mixtape, J. Period is prepping releases for his compilations with CL Smooth and Talib Kweli.

Just wondering what the track names were on your promo cd that was sent out with your first subscription of vibe. I've been trying to figure out an artist from the cd for years. I lost it!!
