Pharrell Leads List of Today's Album Releases

Singles like “Can I Have It Like That” and “Angel” set the tone for In My Mind, which has Skateboard P rhyming and singing in his typical falsetto. The compilation also features the stunt heavy “Number 1,” featuring fellow super producer Kanye West. Pharrell also gets guest appearance assists from the all-star likes of Jay-Z (“Young Girl”), Snoop Dogg, Slim Thug, Nelly and the Clipse’s Pusha T. On the New York City-based radio station Power 105.1 this morning, Pharrell reminded listeners that despite his super producing prowess as part of the Neptunes, he’s not a big superstar solo artist yet and is still with N.E.R.D. right The remainder of this week will be a busy one for Pharrell, as he is scheduled to head over to BET’s 106 & Park today, on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Wednesday (July 26) and on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Friday (July 28). Other album releases today include Jurassic 5 with Feedback, R&B firecracker LeToya Luckett with her self-titled solo debut and Houston’s Trae. While other MCs in Houston may opt to include material items in their rhymes, Trae told Vibe.com in June that he prefers speaking about the angst he feels on the streets. “There’s nothing wrong with rhyming about material things you have. I just choose to talk about the streets,” Trae said.
