Manuela Testolini Nelson, 29, aptly baptized The Woman Formerly Known as Prince's Wife, filed for divorce on May 24 at Hennepin County District Court in Prince's home state of Minnesota, but the Minneapolis Star Tribune just turned up the papers this week.

right After divorcing his first wife, backup singer and dancer Mayte Garcia, whom he married in 1996, Prince publicly denounced marital beliefs, but apparently changed his mind three years later, when he married Testolini.

Prince's lawyer, Alan Eidsness, confirmed the split to People magazine on Wednesday, July 26th, stating that the 48-year-old rocker has decided to end his five-year marriage with the Toronto native, who used to work at his charitable foundation.

In related Prince news, the distribution of a bootleg DVD featuring a 1983 performance by Prince and the Revolution has been halted in Germany following a June ruling by the Berlin Higher Court.

In the first-ever ruling of its kind in Germany, the court has expanded its ban of bootleg CD sales to include DVDs. As a result, Berlin-based distribution company Falcon in Wittenburg is banned from manufacturing and distributing further copies of the illegal DVD, titled “Prince And The Revolution - The Homecoming." The company is also ordered to destroy all existing copies.

The court stated in its decision that Falcon's distribution violates German copyright law, international treaties and Prince's moral rights as the DVD is based on an amateur recording of the original 1983 gig.

Prince's latest album, 3121, is on sale now.
