Fergie Announces Solo Release Date

right Fergie, who inked a deal with fellow band mate Will.I.Am's eponymous label, will release The Dutchess on September 19, adding to next month's due date roster from artists including Sleepy Brown, Beyonce and Mos Def. The album--which features collaborations with Ludacris and Rita Marley-will also be the first LP dropped by the Will.I.Am Music Group label under A&M/Interscope. But Fergie, who used the Peas' frontman to helm production on a number of the album's prominent tracks, entrusted the album's lead single to Polow the Don, producer of Pussycat Doll's, “Buttons.” “London Bridge” marked the second biggest week-to-week leap in Hot 100 history, spring boarding from its July 24th debut at 84 to number five in its second week out.
