Hip Hop Museum Won't Shun Gangsta Rap

right “It’s not that gangsta rap won’t have a place in the museum, we have to look at it from the perspective of where it’s coming from,” Bronx Councilman Larry Seabrook told Vibe.com exclusively. “We have to put it in context of the gang violence, degeneration of the streets and assassinations of people like Biggie. But we can’t talk about hip hop without Tupac.” Slated to open between late 2008 and early 2009 with a $1.5 million project development budget thus far endowed by the New York City Council, debate aroused in the state’s legislative body over whether the violent rap style would add to the hip hop monument.
