Beyonce's Dad: Someone is Trying to Sabotage the B'Day Album

"It is apparent that there is a consistent plan by some to create chaos around Beyonce's B'Day album," wrote Beyonce's dad, Matthew Knowles in a statement sent to Vibe.com. "Unfortunately, what it shows is that anyone can go on the internet and create rumors, and the media in some cases will pick up these stories and run with them, which influence the consumer’s perception." right Knowles directly address the rumor that he plans, as her manager, to postpone the release of his daughter's album, which she recorded without his oversight. He also calls false reports that Beyonce's "Ring the Alarm" single is about Rihanna's relationship with Jay-Z, and that pre-sales of B'Day were set to compete with the self-titled album from Letoya, a former Destiny's Child member and rumored Beyonce rival. In a rare show of artist awareness for net-based petitions, Knowles also complains, "2,500 responses for a petition on the internet go online with a petition regarding 'Deja Vu', and it's national news? Think about that for a minute - 140 million records sold versus 2500 responses about a video. Does that really equate to a major concern? The answer is 'No!'" Knowles added, "And just for the record - Beyonce’s success or failure for me is not based on the number of records she sells. For me it's based on how proud I am that she is a genuine good person, ...that she has grown to be such a leader, and lastly, [that] she has the confidence not to be bothered by these planned distractions." Last week, Beyonce (view her slideshow) wrote a similar letter exclusively to Vibe.com, addressing the gossip surrounding the explosive lyrics in "Ring the Alarm." The Vibe Award winning singer also stars in "Dreamgirls", a film loosely based on the career of the Supremes, scheduled to be released later this year. Have a news tip? Email us.
