A deal inked with the music channel positions the pro-disser to develop, produce and star in a series of network programs hoped to mimic the success of his initial funny bone MTV venture, Wild 'N Out, which on Thursday goes into its third season.
right “I know they're looking to do a lot more things with comedy, and I think I can help bring that across,” Cannon told Reuters.
Currently, the rapper/actor/producer/clothing designer is underway developing a number of talent-based projects for MTV, including a music reality series and a sketch comedy show. For himself, Cannon hones likings to the network's favorite dark-shaded mogul.
In March 2005, MTV signed Diddy and Bad Boy Entertainment to a similar production contract naming the music heavyweight executive producer to a number of the network's television programs upon the success of Making The Band.
Unlike Diddy, Cannon also signed an agreement with MTV to produce big screen projects with the networks Paramount-based label, MTV Films. Last year, the Drumline star wrote a batch of screenplays, one of which sold to Universal Pictures for six figures under Will Smith's Overbrook Entertainment production company.
