Oprah Gives 12 Homes to Katrina Victims

After promising six months ago to build 65 new homes for victims of Hurricane Katrina, Oprah’s Angel Network moved 12 families into houses in Houston. Oprah personally pledged $10 million toward the construction of 65 new homes for victims of the storm. right Housewares and furniture were provided by Oprah’s Katrina Homes registry, which allowed viewers to go online and donate items to those displaced by Katrina. These homes were not provided free of charge, though. Each family receiving a place worked 300 hours alongside volunteers as a “down payment.” As expected, the new homeowners were overcome by the sight of their houses. “It’s so beautiful!” said Tammy, whose family moved into one of the first homes. “I’m so excited I think I’m going to fall down!” Have a news tip? well i respect oprah as a beautiful black woman whos dedicated but cant do alone.shes wondering what can be done for those who lives are still affected im one of them prayers because america your not safe anymore ive experienced the worse those 7days and 6nights in new orleans desperate for someone to care it was no one avaiable i have no more tears for that pain of abandonment of my country

She is the mother of 2 children, an 8 year old girl and a 3 year old boy.

She is in need of housewares, furniture, clothing and shoes.

My family and I are Katrina victims. We have 8 members living together in a small three bedroom house with one bathroom. I have three children 8,3, and 18 months. We need help finding a place of our own to live. We have been living out of containers since the hurricane. We relocated to Baton Rouge after the hurricane from New Orleans, LA. It is still hard for us. We need help please help us. I would love for my children, my fiance, and I to have a place of our own.

Ms. Winfrey does it again. Oprah Thank you for helping so many people. Your dedication is incredibaly admirable to the world as a whole. Because I was involved with relief efforts for Katrina victims, I have a great respect for Oprah and the needs she provides to others.
