Akon Prepares New Album, “Konvicted”
The highly anticipated follow-up to his multi-platinum debut, Trouble, not only features Em, but also Snoop Dogg and Styles P among others.
Director Benny Boom shot the video for Konvicted’s first single, “Smack That”, on which set, as Vibe Confidential first reported, Eminem doused a dancer with water. He has since apologized to her privately.
right Since his debut, Akon has established himself as a production and writing wizard, most recently providing his signature vocals on India.Arie’s remix for her 2006 single, “I Am Not My Hair”, and rapper Young Jeezy’s hit “Soul Survivor,” which Akon co-wrote. Other artists who sought after Akon’s magic include Obie Trice, Baby Bash, Jesse McCartney, and Brian McKnight. The busy R&B singer also appeared last year on The Notorious B.I.G.’s Biggie Duets album.
