The concert will feature live performances from Beyonce, Jay-Z, Kanye West, Rihanna, Jamie Foxx, Black Eyed Peas, and more.
left "They asked me to choose a list of people that I would like to have on the show" Elton John told reporters. "Some were available, some weren't, but I got a list of people I thought were fashion conscious people, and current performers that people love."
The event, airing at 9 p.m. EST on CBS, is an annual star-studded event signifying the official opening of New York Fashion Week. Proceeds from ticket sales will benefit Elton John's AIDS foundation, one of the largest public non-profit organizations in the AIDS arena.
In related news, The Pussycat Dolls, who are slated to perform their chart topping hit “Buttons” for the event, will do so alongside up-and-coming St. Louis rapper Jibbs, who will fill in for Snoop Dogg.
"We are so excited. I mean we were here last week for the VMAs, walked home with the Moonman, [and] we are really excited about that,” one of the Pussycat Dolls told reporters. “We also get to share the stage with Elton John, which is amazing."
