The gritty-mouthed MC is sliding comfortably back into the spotlight, as her performance will be the latest in a slew of public appearances since her emancipation. "MC Lyte is at the top of the list when you talk about hip hop pioneers," Lil' Kim said in an Associated Press release on Tuesday. “She’s one of today's greatest MCs. I'm honored to have the opportunity to show my respect and how she influenced me." right The show will take place on October 7th – airing on television on the 17th – and will also honor hip hop legends such as Ice Cube, Wu-Tang Clan, Afrika Bambaataa, Russell Simmons, Rakim, Beastie Boys and the late Eazy E.
