The rapper, along with award-winning playwright David E. Talbert, has released his first book, Love Don't Live Here No More: Book One of Doggy Tales.
right The novel is the first in a seven-volume book series whose content is inspired by Snoop's own life, taking "readers from the unforgiving streets of Long Beach to the bright lights of show business," according to the book's description on amazon.com.
"The first book is about a mother and a son's relationship and his struggle to become a hip hop artist, while dealing with his mother and her boyfriends," Snoop told Yahoo! News.
"He's at an age where he has to move out and feels like his mother's boyfriend. At the same time, your mother's lover [is] like, 'Get this grown-ass n**ga out the house and let him do his own thing.'"
The book, which is published by Atria Books and carries a list price of $24.00, comes with a free CD, an original Snoop Dogg single that provides a backdrop to the story.
