Angela Bassett and Husband Write Book on Love
left Kimani Press announced that it will release Friends: A Love Story, a nonfiction account of Bassett and Vance’s relationship. Co-written with Hilary Beard, every step of the couple’s life together will be documented.
The book will alternate between “he said, she said” chapters, with Bassett and Vance offering their perspective on a facet of their time together. The story begins where the couple met, at Yale School of Drama, and continues to show how a power couple can maintain a healthy relationship in Hollywood.
The couple doesn’t hope to simply give access into their lives. They also hope the book will provide lessons that could apply to the lives of all men and women in relationships.
After meeting in the late ‘80s, Bassett and Vance were married in 1997. In January 2006, they announced that they were the parents of twins delivered by a surrogate mother.
