left Just three days before the November 21 release of his upcoming album, Kingdom Come, the renaissance rapper will take off for the Jay-Z Hangar tour and hit Atlanta, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas, all in about 17 hours. The hip hop A-lister will step out of his plane and perform a show in an airport hangar in each city. The audience will be made up of contest winners, two of which will get the opportunity to travel with Jay-Z on his private jet on the day of the show. The tour is sponsored by Cingular, who will give customers with video-capable phones the chance to watch the shows on them. Meanwhile, Jay is on another crusade, set to coincide with Dr. Martin Luther King Day in January. President Carter and hip hop mogul Russell Simmons have joined forces to create a public service announcement aimed at fighting anti-Semitism. The spot features Simmons, who founded Def Jam in 1984, and the company’s current president asking viewers, “What’s hot? Respect for people. What’s not hot? Hating people for their color or religion.”
