Formerly on Univeral Records, Spanish Harlem native Lumidee Cedeno will release her second solo album, Unexpected, in March 2007 via TVT.
right “TVT Records is the perfect way for me to come back and again I’m coming out of left field, just
like with ‘Never Leave You (Uh Oh),” Lumidee tells Vibe.com. “Nobody ever thought of me coming
back on a street credible label like TVT, alongside acts like Pitbull, Lil Jon and the Ying Yang
Twins. Actually, nobody ever thought of me really even coming back, period.”
While under the radar of the American music scene, Lumidee established a name for herself in the
Caribbean music movement, collaborating with reggaetón artists Speedy and rapper N.O.R.E. Speedy's single
“Siéntelo,” featuring Lumidee, sold more than one millio worldwide on Virgin Records France.
The album’s first single, “She’s Like The Wind,” features former Terror Squad singer Tony Sunshine
and samples actor Patrick Swayze’s original version of the song.
“We are thrilled to have Lumidee join the TVT family,” says TVT Records President Steve Gottlieb.
“She is a proven hit-maker who has not yet shown the world all that she’s capable of. Everyone is
in for a treat.”
