T.I. and Grandmaster Flash Win Big at BET Hip Hop Awards

The King of the South was up for eight awards and won best hip hop video, CD and MVP of the year, while Grandmaster Flash was honored with the "I Am Hip Hop" Icon Award, reports the AP. left "To get an award for my technological ability means a whole lot more than anything else I've accomplished in my life," said Grandmaster Flash during his acceptance speech. Ludacris, Jermaine Dupri, Young Jeezy, and Lil' Jon all kicked off the show with a performance of the 2001 hit "Welcome to Atlanta." During the program, Diddy made kind remarks about R&B singer Gerald Levert and journalist Ed Bradley, who both died last week. "Let's celebrate their lives," he said. "People will forever miss y'all." Other winners include Jermaine Dupri for "Producer of the Year," Chamillionaire, who took home the "Rookie of the Year" award, and T.I. with "Video of the Year" for "What You Know." The show was hosted by comedian Katt Williams and will air on BET, Wednesday, November 15 at 9 p.m.
