Tyler Perry Plans Next Films with Lionsgate

"And they've given me exactly what you want in a home: a supportive environment and the room to grow." The new films will be the 4th and 5th movies released with Lionsgate. The upcoming Daddy’s Little Girls, opening on Valentine’s Day 2007, will have its world premiere the day before at the newly launched Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta. "Tyler has achieved so much in a short period of time, and we look forward to celebrating yet more successes with him," Lionsgate president of production Michael Paseornek said. Why Did I Get Married? is an adaptation of Perry's play revolving around the joys and trials of matrimony. The movie is expected to begin production in January. Jazz Man’s Blues tells the story of a young black jazz singer who, after leaving his rural town in search of fame, is drawn back home to save a woman he had an affair with years ago. Production on Blues will begin in the summer.
