Vibe reached out to Power 105.1's PR Director, Josefa Paganuzzi, who said all that is clear is that he is in critical condition at New York's Harlem Hospital after being shot when leaving an event not connected to the radio station. She also said an official statement would not be released until the family consents to it. Spanish Radio station La Mega 97.9 reported that Blaze was shot at 15 times after leaving club X-Bar, where he DJ's at weekly. A saddened New York DJ told Vibe.com that he had recently received a call from a New York artist (both whom chose to remain anonymous) who was at Blaze's bedside, and said doctor's hadn't removed the bullets from his body as of Thursday morning, but that their prognosis is "he might not make it past another day or two." Blaze, 30, who was known for dj'ing in some of the most prominent New York City clubs, including Wednesday nights at X-Bar, was raised in Washington Heights by Dominican-born parents. More to come on this developing story.
