A copyright infringement lawsuit was filed against gossip blogger Perez Hilton yesterday, accusing him of publishing stolen photos of Jennifer Aniston. According to the lawsuit, Hilton, whose real name is Mario Lavandeira, published footage from The Break-Up that was "misappropriated and illegally copied" some time during the making of the film. The topless photo of the actress never made the final cut of The Break-Up.
The suit seeks an injunction to cease distribution of the photo and requests the US Marshal to seize to material from Hilton. It also requested a jury trial with monetary damages.
In December, an LA-based paparazzi photo agency filed a copyright infringement suit against Hilton for $7.6 million, claiming he used 51 photographs without permission, payment or credit. That suit is pending.

Re: “Topless Aniston Pics provoke Lawsuit” February 22, 2007
Jennifer Aniston is being bombarded with media and individuals such as Perez Hilton for publishing her naked photos without her permission, causing her fans to give a different perception on her as a celebrity. It is an invasion of privacy and is morally wrong. Women in today’s society are based on physical appearances rather than mind and personality. Whenever the media or individual captures any naked portion of a celebrity’s body, it creates a different outlook on that particular celebrity, such as Jennifer, especially because Jennifer is known to be one of America’s greatest sweethearts. In her movie “The Break Up” Perez Hilton, a gossip blogger, posted several topless photographs of her on the Web without her permission with an argument that it constituted fair use because it was previously on other websites in the manner of fan commentary. Just because it was posted on several other websites, it doesn’t justify Jennifer’s topless pictures being tampered. Needless to say, Perez Hilton has given a disrespectful outlook on Jennifer because in a showbiz entry story, it was claimed that the pictures were illegally stolen and copied during the making of the move “The Break-up” and therefore did not have any rights in publishing her photos. Perez Hilton should either be sued or agree on a public apology to Jennifer Aniston because women in society should be treated with the utmost respect, and not given a false portrayal.
