On Amazon.com, Purple Rain sees increase of more than 1000 percent.

Prince's halftime performance at the Superbowl Sunday was epic, in part for his performance of "Purple Rain" in the actual rain. It also helped His Purpleness with his Soundscans, as Amazon.com reported that several of his records - including The Hits/B-Sides, The Hits 2, Ultimate Prince and 3121 - were selling more than usual the day after the game. Most notably, his greatest hits album, The Very Best of Prince, moved up from No. 999 to No. 38 on the website's "Top Sellers" roster. And Purple Rain, his 1984 epic, moved up from No. 529 to No. 35, increasing more than 1000 percent. Additionally, Yahoo's Buzz log noted that the search engine at yahoo.com was pummeled with Prince queries. According to the Yahoo blog, the top three searched-for phrases following his performance were: 1. How Old is Prince?, 2. How Tall is Prince and 3. Prince at the Rio in Las Vegas, the latter referring to the weekly performance series he's headlining at the club, which has temporarily been renamed 3121, after his latest album.
