Cam to "60 Minutes": No Snitching
The serial killer is NOT in 4E.
Cameron Giles is scheduled to appear on CBS's "60 Minutes" this Sunday. Anchor Anderson Cooper interviewed Cam about hip-hop's "no snitching" code of ethics, a rule which is having a significant effect on the amount of arrests made in homicide cases in poor communities of color across the country. According to a release, Cooper asks Cam if he would even report a serial killer who was living next door to him. Cam responds, "I wouldn't call and tell anybody on him... I'd probably move. But I'm not going to call and be like, 'The serial killer's in 4E.' "
Cam'ron also explains why he didn't cooperate with police after he was shot in DC in 2005. "Because…it would definitely hurt my business, and the way I was raised, I just don't do that," he says. When Cooper says that if he were attacked, he'd want the assailant caught, Cam responds, "But then again, you're not going to be on the stage tonight in the middle of, say, Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina, with people with gold and platinum teeth and dreadlocks jumping up and down singing your songs, either," says Giles. "We're in two different lines of business."
Also appearing on the program is Geoffrey Canada, an anti-violence advocate from Harlem who denounces the "no snitching" code. He tells Cooper, "It's like you can't be a black person if you have a set of values that say 'I will not watch a crime happen in my community without getting involved to stop it." This show was just an attempt to cover for police not solving crimes in black neighborhoods and divert attention from the real snitch problem. Criminals lying to reduce their crimes. They should have done a show on the police killing a 92-year-old woman based on the word of a snitch. Then, they tried to get a second snitch to cover for them. This is definitely the reason why hip hop has a bad name. "IF" and this is a very big "IF" you were ever involved in illegal activity and you make the transistion to music and glorify what you did so be it. But once your in the public eye and claim to still be involved in these s0 called stories it better be true or you will get approached by those that really live a life of crime just like those that shot at Cam. Otherwise keep no snitching for illegal activity only and not for hip hop. Theres kids in school who think it applies to them and many are not involved in illegal activity, it goes too far.

I think No Snitchin is a code started by the FBI to encourage black on black crime. It is a way to keep small time pushers from snitching on the big dealers who are connected to the CIA. They all want more black on black killing to keep the people down.

It's rappers like Cam, that has me tired of defending most of the music that is popular in hip hop. The f**ked up part about this was that Cam forgot that he's been shot before; he won't even snitch about that. In my opinion, people who don't snitch when it'll save a life or get justice are cowards.
I don't like the police. No black person does, but there are some good cops out there.
