Beyonce flaunts VIBE cover on TRL; Danyel Smith in Washington Post.
Media on media: Beyonce unveils VIBE's June issue on MTV's TRL today (check back for video!), and MTV News sums up Beyonce's interview in the June issue of VIBE.
Meanwhile, VIBE Editor in Chief Danyel Smith is quoted in the Washington Post about the recent furor over hip hop lyrics. "Rap gets a lot of blame, fairly and unfairly," she says, "for misogyny and violence, while people tend to forget American cinema, for the last 100 years, has explicit misogyny and explicit violence in Technicolor. Which frankly is what lot of rappers, gangsta and otherwise, are influenced by." Click here to read the whole article.
