Kells Pens Track for VA Tech
s from R. Kelly's "Rise Up" go to Hokie Spirit Memorial Fund.
R. Kelly has written a ballad about assuaging pain in the wake of the Virginia Tech shootings. Entitled "Rise Up," the track will be released digitally May 15, with all of the proceeds going to the Hokie Spirit Memorial Fund, which provides grief assistance and counseling for the victims' families and other students affected by the shooting.
The song's chorus incudes the lyrics, "Rise up, when you feel you can't go on, rise up, and all of your hope is gone, rise up, when you're weak and you can't be strong."
