Ozone Awards: Hip Hop Lives in the South
Queensbridge king gears up for greatest hits album
Lil Wayne, DJ Khaled, T-Pain, Polow da Don, and DJ Drama all took home awards last night's at the second annual Ozone Awards.
Lil Wayne snagged the Best Rap Male Artist award, along with the Best Lyricist and Mixtape Monster award. DJ Drama took home a Best Mixtape DJ award, while DJ Khaled garnered a Best Radio DJ award.
Other winners included Polow da Don (Best Producer), and T-Pain (Best Male R&B Artist).
With all the celebration, though, Ozone didn't escape the mark of any decent hip hop award show: a good ol' fashioned scuffle. In the lobby of the Miami Hyatt Regency, site of the TJ's DJ's Tastemakers DJ/Music Conference that is normally held in conjunction with the Ozone awards, a man was reportedly apprehended and removed from the hotel after a fight broke out, and a woman was wrestled to the ground by a cop after protesting.
No injuries have been reported.
