Hip hop has created a niche since the 70s with "bling" and "stunt"
rhymes, but the Hip Hop Summit Action Network has made it a point to educate hip hop fans on where the money for the "bling" is made, and
how it's invested to last, with the final leg of the "Get Your Money Right"
financial empowerment tour ending at Morris Brown College in Atlanta on Nov. 3.
The 71st Hip-Hop Summit, spearheaded by HSAN's Co-Chairman Russell Simmons and Dr. Benjamin Chavis, will feature panelists Jermaine Dupri, Yung Joc, LeToya Luckett, T-Pain, Belly and Huey, Cassidy, Young Berg, Bryan-Michael Cox, Lil X, and Chrysler Financial’s Keith Myricks, Shauna Witherspoon and Monique Tate. The moderator will be former BET 106 & Park host and rumored newest Def Jam recording artist, Free. The event focuses on personal finance issues, from the basics of banking, to home ownership.
"The 2007 Tour on Financial Empowerment has been a great tour and we will culminate in the ATL. Thousands of young people's lives have been positively transformed as a result of our "Get Your Money Right" Summits. Especially with the powerful hip-hop talent and genius resident in Atlanta, the Summit at Morris Brown College will be off the hook!" Dr. Chavis said in a statement.
