J.Lo To Be Dropped From Sony/Epic?

Singer’s alleged over-zealous spending becomes a problem.

After selling a mere 53,000 copies the first week of her seventh album Brave, J.Lo might be given the boot from her label, MSNBC reports.

A source close to Epic Records and Epic's parent company, Sony BMG, has claimed that J.Lo, who fuses hip hop with Latin diva, " . . . costs too much money and doesn't sell enough."

Earlier in the month, J.Lo performed on Good Morning America, where Epic paid for Lopez' makeup, reported to be about $8,000 a day.

"The woman requires everything short of flying monkeys to get on a stage," a source "familiar with the issue" was quoted as saying.

The source added that Lopez album cover cost $60,000 " . . . in hair and makeup, lighting, photographers, [and] re-touching," and the video budget fell around $300,000.

J.Lo's latest album, Brave, was released Oct. 9. An Epic spokesperson tactfully reassured: "We love Jennifer at Epic," MSNBC reported.

Forget J lo,I never have and never will buy her music,I won't even get it for free from limewire. The industry is about money,if you aren't selling, you will become another washed up artist,it's time J Lo,your music does nothing for me.No one needs a high maintenance person that isn't helping them.Your company needs to make its profits too.

PS. I got a little love for you,but not for your older music though, but only a few songs.Keep riding that train until they boot you off, stay up J Lo.

I can't believe that! I've been playing Jennifer Lopez' album Brave for most of the past 33 days! Very catchy numbers! Mile in These Shoes I've played more than 10 to 15 times! I noticed it was slammed by a lot of music critics, but this is a return to her dance sound of her first 2 albums! Maybe Sony/Epic was just disappointed at the slow sales of the album. But J Lo can screw them and get on another label somewhere! Sony just didn't push this album quite enough. This is a fun album that can't be overlooked.
