Twista isn't one of those paggy dudes who won't tell you when his birthday is, then act all sulky when you forget to buy him a present. Nope - ya boy's hosting a whole weekend's worth of party in Chi-City, starting this weekend. For five years now, the speediest (and bloggin'est, at the Chicago Tribune!) rapper in the Midwest has hosted the Annual Celebrity Weekend, featuring a crazy line-up of hometown comedians and nationally renowned musicians and DJs. The event kicks off this Friday with Twista's Comedy Explosion Show (BOOM!) featuring Lisa E., B. Cole, Ill Will, Michael Blackston and Kevin Hart. That begins at 9 pm at the Harold Washington Cultural Center, 4701 Kings Drive, Chicago.
The next night is the jump - the "Gangsta Grill" edition of the two-day soiree. DJ Drama and DJ Sean Mac will host the party at Crossroads (160 W. Joe Orr Road, Chicago Heights) from 9 pm-3 am. For a chance to win a Black Card and a bottle of Moet, hopefuls can text "Twista," along with your name and birthdate, to 312.451.8990. The rest of ya? Just keep it moving on the dancefloor.
