It hasn’t been easy for the dawg. Rap star DMX, who has been in
headlines lately for confessing his plans to drop a gospel album, has
been ordered to pay $1.5 million to his baby’s mother for defamation of
character.
Monique Wayne claims X, real name Earl Simmons, defamed her after
reportedly saying in a Sister 2 Sister magazine article that in 2003 she
raped him, which led to her becoming pregnant.
"She raped me," the rapper reportedly said in the article. "DNA says it
is (my child). I don’t know. If I did (have sex with her) I would
remember. It ain’t like she’s a pretty girl."
Apparently, Judge Thomas Smith missed the joke, and ordered the
gruff-voiced rapper to pony up over a million after Wayne sued for
defamation, the New York Post reports. The settlement came after DMX
failed to show up to court.
He now must pay $518,400 in compensatory damages and $1 million in
punitive penalties.

I believe that, that was stupid what DMX said, and his mouth got him in trouble. People need to learn what to say...Celebrity or not, what he said was ignorant! Like the old saying says "if ya dont got nothin good to say, then dont say nothin at all". and just because he's a celebrity it doesn't make it right...I'm looking at it from the woman's perspective. The DNA test already proved positive that he's the father, and out of embarressment (because he's married), he wants to make false and dumb accusations.
