Ike Turner lived a drama-filled life, and according to coroners, his
death wasn’t too far behind. The famed musician and songwriter
apparently died of an accidental cocaine overdose, BBC reports.
Turner was found dead in December of last year, at his home in San Marcos, California. Coroners released his cause of death yesterday. "We are listing that he abused cocaine, and that's what resulted in the cocaine toxicity," Paul Parker, the Chief Investigator at the Medical Examiner's Office, said.
Ike’s daughter Mia has been telling reporters that her father’s drug abuse has been an “ongoing struggle.”
Turner is best known for his rocky relationship with Tina Turner. Laurence Fishburne portrayed him in the 1993 film What’s Love Got to Do With It.
