Tyler Perry also named in New York investigation, along with professional athletes and "tens of thousands of others," says report.

The New York steroid trafficking probe headed by Albany County District Attorney David Soares has already nabbed Marion Jones, and named countless professional baseball players. Now, according to a report by the Albany Times-Union, the names of prominent entertainers have also been assoiated with the investigation - including Mary J. Blige, Wyclef Jean, 50 Cent, Timbaland and Tyler Perry.

In a story published Sunday (January 13), the Times-Union reported that a confidential source had said the aforementioned names had emerged in the investigation, although none of the entertainers have been accused of wrongdoing. Their names were associated with doctors and clinics who have ordered or prescribed steroids and human growth hormone as an anti-aging remedy - a use which has been unproven, but is widely prescribed, and illegal.

According to the investigation, thousands of others across the nation have been named in addition to the entertainers. Some of the accused were allegedly shipped illegal steroids prescribed by Michael Diamond, a Long Island-based chiropracter who runs an anti-aging program from Manhattan's upscale Clay Gym, reports the Times-Union. Others were allegedly prescribed the hormones by Dr. Gary Brandwein, who was indicted on drug-related felonies and has plead not guilty. He was reportedly the doctor who prescribed steroids to pro wrestler Chris Benoit, who last summer murdered his wife and son before killing himself.

A spokesperson for Blige told the New York Times, "Mary J. Blige has never taken any performance-enhancing illegal steroids," nor had she ever taken anti-aging steroids.

I CAN SEE IF THEY WERE UNDER AGE BUT THAT'S THERE BODY AND NOBODY HAS TO LIVE WITH THAT BUT THERE SELF. I LIKE EVERYONE THAT WAS NAMED AND I STILL SUPPORT THEY AND IM GOING TO KEEP BUYING THERE MUSIC AND MOVIES. THE WORLD WOULD BE SO MUCH BETTER IF EVERYONE MINDED THERE OWN BUSINESS AND STOPPED WORRYIN ABOUT OTHERS.

What's up with this list?

I think it's unfortunate that the investigators have chosen to expose the names of people treated by this doctor who promoted an anti-aging program, which of course was highly patronized by celebrities who are constantly in the public eye.

I don't condone the illegal use of steroids, but I also don't agree with public witch-hunts.

This is just my opinion - take it or leave it!

Fat Joe did warn us..."Them steroids is getting to him. He ain't built like that..." said the man on 50 cent. I never thought though there are Anti-Aging steroids. I had a laugh after reading about that. Maybe it's time we stop praising our celebs about their "NATURAL BEAUTY". Now looking at Mary on the cover of Vibe I'm wondering.....are you like this because of Mother Nature? OR is it Plastic Surgery OR ............wait for it......Anti-Aging Steroids?
