Rapper set for trial on weapons charges in early February

Compton’s favorite sex symbol, The Game, is set to appear in court on February 4 for weapons and assault charges.

The trial was set yesterday. According to TMZ, an L.A. County Superior Court judge may hold the LAPD in contempt of court holding on to $44,000 of the rap star’s money, which was confiscated last year when Game, real name Jayceon Taylor, was arrested. The charges were incurred after a February 24 incident where he showed up at the Rita Walters Educational Learning Complex in L.A. with a firearm, during a basketball game. The money was held during the criminal investigation.

The judge has planned a January 22 hearing to decide whether or not to hold the LAPD responsible.

If convicted of the weapons and assault charges, The Game could serve up to five years in prison. The rapper pleaded not guilty to all charges.
