The funeral for the 4-year-old daughter of rap star Juvenile, was held
in South Carolina, Saturday with a reported 500 attendants. But out of
all the mourners one person was noticeably missing…. Juvenile.
According to TMZ.com, a spokesman for Juvenile, real name Terius Gray,
explained that the rap star decided to skip the funeral to avoid media
attention that would divert attention from mourning and celebrating
the life of his daughter.
Jelani was found dead Thursday, alongside her mother 39-year-old
mother Joy Deleston, and 11-year-old sister Micaiah Alique. Police say
the shooter was Deleston’s 17-year-old son, Anthony Tyrone Terrell
Jr., who was prohibited from coming to the funeral. All three females
were mourned together on Saturday.
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Terrell implicated
himself in the killings, going so far as to tell police where he
stashed the gun. Terrell, a sophomore at Central Gwinnett High School,
was charged with three counts of murder and three counts of aggravated
assault and is being held at DeKalb County Jail.

ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. that is the Last, Final goodbye. nothing but death itself should have kept him away from the funeral. i've read some other posts and people say he might be hurting too bad, thats no excuse to pay your final respects for your child. not to down him for his parenting skills because i have no idea of how much of a role he played in her life but people live with their kids, run their bathes every night, tuck them in, kiss them goodnight EVERY night and the child may die. there is NO greater pain than seeing someone everyday and losing them to death especially a child so if they attend a funeral for someone they interact physically with everyday then i don't understand how people can say it may be too hard. and media attention should not keep you away from your childs homegoing. media is in the streets and i hate to bring up his criminal history as it has nothing to do with the murder but when you do wrong as a celeb the media is going to be there and if you didn't care about the media attebtion then, then it shouldn't be an issue now especially when this is a farewell to your child. Juvenile is one of my favorite rappers but that stunned me. i have kids that i love to death and if something happens to them i would be a wreck. but a wreck present at their funeral. nothing would keep me away and to the people that understand i hope you don't have kids because condoning missing your own childs funeral is heartbreaking.
