In one of his last interviews
on his way to the pen for three and a half years for a 2006 weapons
possession charge, Prodigy had a couple of things he needed to get off
his chest. “You got a lot of fucking garbage ass rappers out here,” he
told Worldstarhiphop.com in an exclusive video posted today on their
site. “This game is meant for a select circle of few…I’m tired of it, man!”
Sitting
inside his vehicle, Prodigy spoke to a camera man about the state of
hip hop… and in his usual stance, he didn’t back down from mentioning other artists he feels aren’t up to par.
“I can list a hundred corny rappers right now,” he said nonchalantly. “Mad niggas from New York, New Jersey, Cali . . . they from everywhere, these corny ass rappers!”
He said this before throwing out Max B, Jim Jones, Cam, Hell Rell, Cassidy, Fat Joe, and Joe Budden’s names as a few.
“That might be your preference but I’m trying to tell you, man, rap is for a select few. Everybody not supposed to be rapping man. A lot of these niggas need to cut it out. . . nigga, go do something else. Go sell some drugs.”
