Tristan Wilds, more commonly known as Michael Lee from The Wire (HBO), has joined the cast for the new spin-off series 90210 (CW). Wilds will be making the transition from the streets of Baltimore to Beverly Hills by portraying the role of Dixon Mills, a smart adopted boy who is described as having “behavioral issues.” The show will be in the perspective of Dixon and his sister Annie (played by Shenae Grimes).
Audiences that are used to seeing Wilds working for Marlo Stanfield’s drug organization will have to get used to seeing him play the “new kid” from Kansas who has come to Beverly Hills High. His character’s father has also taken the job of principal of the school, unlike Wilds’ mother in his last role who was a drug addict.
Writer of the show, Rob Thomas, has said that the new series will have some connections to its parent sitcom Beverly Hills 90210. The new series 90210 will air in the Fall 2008 on Tuesdays at 8/7c on The CW.
