According to the Atlanta-Journal Constitution, the Grammy winner and songwriter was sentenced to 24 hours community service by a Georgia judge on Monday after he pleaded guilty to driving without a license and pleaded no contest to the reckless driving charge.
Ne-Yo (real name: Shaffer Smith) also has to perform for the Boys and Girls Club and attend a defensive driving class. He was fined $1000.
Georgia police arrested Ne-Yo in February for driving 105 mph – 50 miles above the speed limit.
Ne-Yo has been known for penning hit songs for Usher, Mario, and Beyonce. He won a Grammy for best contemporary R&B album for Because of You.
His album, The Year of the Gentleman, will be released in August.
