Tha Carter III tops Billboard once again, beats out G-Unit

A 25 percent drop in sales could not hold Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter III (Young Money/Universal) from reclaiming the number one spot at the top of the Billboard's Top 200 with 156,300 units sold this week.

After one month on the charts, Tha Carter III has sold a total of 1,681,800 copies.

Wayne’s repeat victory was even more impressive considering his competition featured none other than G Unit's sophomore set, T.O.S. (Terminate on Sight) (G-Unit/Interscope), which debuts at No. 4 with 102,000. G Unit’s 2003's debut album, Beg For Mercy started at No. 1 with 377,000.

50 Cent is confident his next solo LP could match Lil Wayne’s success with a million of his own. He recently told MTV News, “I feel I'm one of the more vocal people in hip hop," he added. "Even when it's not about music, people pay attention to me, because I have something to offer. I'll continue to create quality music at a pace they haven't seen."
