Comedian and actor Bernie Mac (real name: Bernard McCullough) died
Saturday morning at Northwestern Memorial hospital, according to the
Chicago Sun-Times. He was 50.
Mac's publicist, Danica Smith, revealed in a statement that the actor died from complications due to pneumonia in a Chicago area hospital. Mac was hospitalized for
pneumonia back on August 1. Though his condition was said to be stable
on Thursday, on Friday things had changed, and a spokesman for Mac said
he was not responding well to treatment. Mac also had an inflammatory
lung disease, but it had been in remission since 2005.
Bernie Mac's rise to fame as a stand up comedian began with his standout performance on Russell Simmons' Def Comedy Jam on HBO back in the early 1990's. In 2000, Mac - along with comedians Steve Harvey, DL Hughley, and Cedric The Entertainer - headlined The Original Kings of Comedy tour and its subsequent documentary directed by Spike Lee. His Fox television sitcom, The Bernie Mac Show, was a critical and commercial success, lasting five seasons before getting cancelled in 2006.
Two movies starring Bernie Mac are also slated for release. First is the animated feature, Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa, where Mac stars alongside Ben Stiller, Chris Rock, and David Schwimmer. He is also starring in the comedy Soul Men, which also features Samuel L. Jackson and Isaac Hayes.

I was just forced to a pause while listening to Game feat Lil Wayne - "My Life"
When I saw the last line of this piece..
"He is also starring in the comedy Soul Men, which also features Samuel L. Jackson and Isaac Hayes"
Both Bernie Mac and Issac Hayes will always be missed, but i draw strength from the fact that we now have two strong new angels watching over us all.
May GOD take you both into his arms and into his house.
GOD Bless and Rest In Peace.
