Postal worker says 3000 bit his style

A Boston postal worker is suing Andre 3000, for $2 million in damages, claiming the rapper and actor stole his cartoon idea.

According to the Boston Herald, Timothy McGee says that 3000 took his concept to create “Class of 3000” while McGee was still an art student. McGee says that 10 years prior to “Class of 3000” he created the “characters, artwork, storylines . . . and concepts” for a show that was to be called, “The Music Factory of the ’90s.”

McGee’s suit says his show was going to follow younger musicians as they tried to “break into Atlanta’s burgeoning music scene.”

“Class of 3000” was executive produced and starred Andre 3000. In 2007, he received an Emmy award for Outstanding Individual Achievement in Animation. The first season of “Class of 3000” was released Dec. 3.
