Singer accused of causing the wreck

A man has filed suit against singer and actress Brandy Norwood for the 2006 collision that caused one fatality.

In a suit filed in the L.A. County Superior Court last week, Donald Lite states that Brandy wasn’t paying attention to road rules when the accident occurred. He says that he now has a pile of hospital bills due to "serious and permanent injuries." The amount he’s suing for is unknown.

In VIBE’s December 2008 issue, Shanel Odum reported that Brandy was driving 65 mph on L.A.’s Sepulveda Boulevard, and rear-ended a Toyota Corolla driven by a woman name Awatef Aboudihaj. The collision caused a domino effect, and Aboudihaj later died at a local hospital.

Brandy ended up with a personal injury suit as well as three wrongful death suits. Lite’s suit marks the fifth suit filed against the singer for the crash.

“Without God I wouldn’t have made it through, if you know what I mean,” Brandy told VIBE. “I would have been lost…There was a point when I didn’t feel like it was okay to live on- because someone else lost their life.”
