Famed rapper and beatboxer Doug E. Fresh will lose three of his homes in Harlem to foreclosure.
Doug E. (born Douglas Davis) owes more than $3.5 million in unpaid mortgage payments. The Harlem-based entertainer began investing in real estate after his rap career ended.
According to the New York Post the 46-year-old rapper owes $60,000 in American Express credit card debt, and have a $367,000 IRS tax lien. He also owes more than $40,000 to tax collectors.
To make ends meet, he’s planning to open a Harlem restaurant called Doug E’s Chicken and Waffles, next month.
