TMZ has released a shocking photo Thursday night of singer Rihanna bruised and battered. The photo is reportedly in relation to the alleged fight the singer had with her boyfriend Chris Brown.
In the photo, Rihanna is seen with cuts on her lips, contusions on her forehead, and what appear to be bite marks on her face. The disturbing photo has already made rounds on several blog sites, and has been released, ironically, one day before her 21st birthday.
According to People.com, a family member of Rihanna has spoken out, saying that Brown, “flew so far under everyone's radar that we just didn't think he was that [abusive] type…he was always looking after her needs making sure she was happy."
"I don't want her to go back to him," the relative added. "I don't think anyone does."
Brown has hired PR firm Sitrick And Company, Inc. who specializes in crises management, to issue a statement over the weekend, where Brown says that he is "sorry and saddened" by what occurred and that he is seeking counseling from family and friends.
"Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired," the statement from the 19-year-old R&B star read. "I am seeking the counseling of my pastor, my mother and other loved ones and I am committed, with God's help, to emerging a better person.”
Brown must appear in court March 5.
