Chris Brown’s longtime manager, Tina Davis, has released a statement denying involvement in the alleged Chris Brown, Rihanna altercation.
Davis, 39, has been accused of being the mysterious woman who sent a three-page text message to Brown that caused Rihanna to allegedly flip out during the car ride that resulted in Brown supposedly beating her.
"The relationship between Ms. Davis and Mr. Brown is that of manager and client,” the statement, released from Brown’s attorney Marshall B. Grossman, read.
“There has never been any other relationship. The rumors in circulation are false. There are no emails between Ms. Davis and Mr. Brown of the type which have been described in media reports. If the source of the false rumors is identified, legal action will be taken. Given the nature of the legal issues affecting Mr. Brown, Ms. Davis will not be making any further statements."
For years, Davis, 40, has been dogged by rumors that she carried on an inappropriate relationship with her 19-year-old client Brown since he was 16. In 2007, Brown’s camp released a statement denying that Brown and Davis were sexually involved.
"Chris Brown and his manager, Tina Davis have a strictly professional relationship. Ms. Davis has been instrumental in helping Chris achieve success as a multi-talented singer/dancer/actor. Rumors that the relationship goes beyond a working one, are not only patently false; they diminish her efforts and his undeniable talents."
According to TMZ, a detective's affidavit claims that the text message the night of the altercation between Brown and Rihanna came "from a woman who Brown had a previous sexual relationship with."
Davis’s father, George Davis, has jumped to his daughter’s defense, telling told E! News, “Those are old rumors.”
