VIBE Awards: Backstage Pass and Behind-The-Scenes Photos
There was a whole lot more to the VIBE Awards than what you saw broadcast on UPN on Friday Nov. 21. There were VIP events, parties, rehearsals, concerts, and more. Some celebrities were invited to a private gift cabana event, featuring items from Akademiks, J-Lo Fashions, Baby Phat, Nautica, and more. Russell Simmons and his wife Kimora also hosted an in-store at Up Against The Wall, and the winners won a chance to sit in the fanzone while watching the red carpet. Other fans in other cities even won the opportunity to attend the concert.

The VIBE AWARDS were held November 20 at the Santa Monica Civic Center and were broadcast Friday, Nov. 21 (8:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on UPN.

Joe Budden
Born in Spanish Harlem, Joe Budden lived in Queens until he moved
to Jersey City at the age of 11. By the age of 16, he started
making industry connections and soon garnered popularity on the mix
tape circuit. Def Jam caught the buzz and signed him. With the June
2003 release of his self-titled album, Budden seemed poised for big
things, thanks in part to the flashy video for the single "Pump It
Up.” The single was also featured on the 2 Fast 2
Furious soundtrack.
