Bobby's Hateration and Hollaration When will Bobby Brown realize his inappropriate behavior is so passé? Well it won't be any time soon because once more he has made a fool of himself. As reported in the New York Post, Brown attended Usher's birthday party Monday night at the Highlands Club in L.A. When Usher took the stage to thank his guests, Bobby began bowing and throwing kisses at him. Usher then invited Bobby on stage and said, "Here's my man Bobby Brown, the original king of R&B!" After a hug, Brown flipped and started screaming, "You need to respect me! You took my spot! You are taking away my shine! I should be on stage not you!" Brown attempted to fight Usher on stage but was escorted away by guards. Usher broke the silence by grabbing girlfriend Chilli for a dance. Vivica Fox, Cris Judd, Lauryn Hill, Shaquille OÃNeal, L.A. Reid, JaRule and Nick Carter were all in attendance and witnessed the spectacle. Has anyone recommended some form of anger management therapy for Bobby? Here's some advice: First off Bobby, when you release a successful multi-platinum album you too can be in the limelight. Second, if you wanted a birthday party all you had to do was ask. Back To Top
Judge Stops Flex From Dropping Future Beats New York DJ Funkmaster Flex (neé Aston Taylor) of New York's Hot 97 was slapped with a restraining order Wednesday after an alleged physical confrontation with DJ Steph Lova (neé Stephanie Saunders) of rival radio station, Power 105. As reported in the New York Post, Flex is banned from having any contact with Lova in person, by phone, fax or through third and fourth parties. According to police, the two had an altercation in which Flex allegedly attacked and spewed obscenities at Lova. Maybe Flex should stick with creating beats and quit throwing them. Back To Top
Tony Soprano Tries to Whack a Bad Habit Mob boss Tony Soprano has more on his mind than which Capo to whack. According to the Associated Press, The Sopranos star, James Gandolfini admitted he has struggled with drugs and alcohol in the past. This stunning admission comes in the midst of GandolfiniÃs divorce from his wife of three years. Marcy Gandolfini included allegations of her husband's substance abuse when she filed for divorce in March. James spokesman Dan Klores issued this statement, "To bring it up now, as an attempt to gain leverage and a better settlement during the divorce, is just reprehensible." Back To Top
Battle Of the Divas Why pay $60 for a per-per-view heavyweight fight when you can tune in to record sales next month? Yes, the battle of the divas will come full steam ahead with new album releases from Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston and Jennifer Lopez all on Nov. 26 as reported in New YorkÃs Daily News. Fur will fly and claws will be sharpened with the releasing of MariahÃs first single, "Through the Rain," Whitney's "Just Whitney," and J.Lo's "This is Me...Then." There were even talks of a major publicity stunt to join Carey and Houston in a CBS special, but Whitney dropped the idea. According to a source in HoustonÃs camp, "She wasnÃt ready. Also do you think that CBS would have promoted it as anything other than the 'Two Freaks'?" Another source argues CareyÃs advisors turned down the idea saying, ìThey did not want her associated with Whitney, with all her troubles. Considering Mariah's troubles, why would you want to invite comparison?" Well maybe because birds of the same feather should flock together. Back To Top
Belafonte Disses Powell Singer Harry Belafonte refused to apologize for comments he made likening U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell to a house slave in the Bush administration according to CNN. "There's an old saying," Belafonte said. "In the days of slavery, there were those slaves who lived on the plantation and there were those slaves that lived in the house. You got the privilege of living in the house if you served the master...exactly the way the master intended to have you serve him." An outraged Powell described Belafonte's metaphor as "...a throwback to another time and another place that I wish Harry had thought twice about using." Belafonte's criticisms stem from the Bush administration's urgency to wage war with Iraq. Belafonte urged Powell to use his "house slave" position as an "...opportunity to do some mischief and make a difference." Belafonte, singer of the 1955 hit "Day-O," and Powell are both of Jamaican ancestry. Back To Top
