The beautiful Sundy Carter, best known for her lead role as Beanie Siegel's girlfriend, Aisha in "State Property II," due out in April, discusses the ins and outs of the entertainment business and how she started her movie and video trail. Sexiness isn't the only thing that exudes from her pores. The Philadelphia native and Temple University graduate is no-holds-barred when it comes to the entertainment industry. She has graced the movie screen in "Soul Plane," "Bringing Down The House," "State Property I & II," and a multitude of music videos.
How did you get your start in music videos?
Initially I didn't want to get involved in the music video trail. It is a way to get yourself out there and get good exposure. I set a goal for myself and said if I'm going to do videos I am going to do only features. I didn't want to be the rump shaker or in the back of the video fighting for the camera with hundreds of women. I did my first video with Method Man and Redman - the "U" video. Since then I've done Nelly and Kelly Rowland's "Dilemma," Twista and Kanye West's "Slow Jamz," Mariah and Jadakiss' "U Make Me Wanna," and a host of others.
What was it like working with Beanie Siegel for your first movie experience?
"State Property" was my first movie and it was a great experience. It allowed me to deal with different people who have already been in the entertainment industry. It was my foundation and I have grown from the experience. What you see on screen is not always what it's cracked up to be in reality. Beans would show up on the set and know my lines and everybody's lines [laughing]. It really exposed me to a different side of the rap industry.
Have you ever shaken your tail feather to get a part in a movie or video?
No, I haven't . The way this business is set up, you are offered different propositions. If you have morals and standards people will already know who to approach and who not to disrespect. I've never gone to the casting couch. I've been blessed with talent.
Sundy Carter's male edition, the five W's and the proper way to approach a female on any given Sundy?
1) Presentation is everything. Please be polished.
2) Introduction says it all. Don't be phony with it; go with the flow. No corny lines allowed.
3) No pressure.
4) A nice date. Something that will captivate the women's attention. Creativity is key. No flowers or candy.
5) Just do it. I like my feet rubbed and my back kissed. Just do it without me saying it.
