Xzibit and his Prepaid MasterCard® Card

Xzibit's been renovating your rides for sometime now, so for his next trick, the rapper plans to pimp your bank account. Xzibit has announced the launch of his MYplash Prepaid MasterCard, a prepaid debit card emblazoned with his photo. With the card, eager fans of the rapper can flash their plastic at most stores. They'll also have the opportunity to get updates and special offers from Xzibit. "This is an honor for me," the rapper said in a statement. "With this card, my fans can take me to the mall, to the movies or wherever they may go." Former "American Idol" contestant Clay Aiken and pop-punkers Simple Plan already have their own cards, so it was only a matter of time before the hip hop world followed suit, allowing fans to spend like their favorite superstars. The fan-driven card, MYplash, works like a debit card; the owner (or his or her parent) can add money to the prepaid card online or over the phone, paying directly from their bank account, via another debit or credit card, or through an employer. The card can then be used at any place of business that accepts MasterCard debit cards, including online and ATMs. According to the company, the card is ideal for young fans under the age of 18 who are too young to obtain a credit card (parents will have to purchase the MYplash card for them), consumers who don't qualify for credit cards, and those who don't have a traditional banking relationship but still want the convenience of a debit card. To get the card featuring the rapper/credit card model/auto decorator/film star ("XXX: State of the Union"), check out www.myplash.com.
