Real Talk With Tyrese Gibson
Vibe.com: What made you decide to play the role of Angel Mercer in Four Brothers?
Tyrese: I hadn’t read the script when John Singleton called me. I went for it because John’s never called me with bullshit. I love the movie!
Is it true you and James Franco got into a scuffle on the set during the filming of Annapolis?
He was a difficult dude to work with. We had a fight on the set and it got ugly and I had to contain myself. Ol’ boy weighs like 160 and I’m about 230 (pounds). Other than that, Annapolis is an incredible film and it caused me to step up like I’ve never stepped up on a film.
I think that’s going to be the performance of my career.
Speaking of careers, when can we expect another album from you?
I’m like four or five songs away from being finished and I just did a joint with R. Kelly. It might be coming out towards the end of the year. My relationship with J Records is incredible and they’re really excited about my project. I just can’t wait.
Are you more passionate about singing or acting?
Music is my passion and acting is becoming my passion, because I’m affected by what effects people. When the blessing is right there in your face, you can’t overlook it. When opportunities are coming your way you have to take advantage of them.
Now that we’re on the subject of passion, do you have a girlfriend?
Nope.
What’s your favorite sexual position?
Uh…shit. I’m always hungry.
So do you prefer to give or receive?
Both! I’m always hungry.
Have you ever gotten cozy with your costars?
Yes, but off the set. Not on set.
Are you going to kiss and tell?
Never would I kiss and tell.
What’s next for Tyrese?
I’m filming a movie with Larenz Tate and Meagan Goode in L.A., [the movie is titled] Waste Deep. It’s gonna be hot!

I went to pick him up from school the other day and his teacher told me that he has a new name and then all his classmates started singing "Sweet lady". He's only 4 years old but he's so handsome.
