I wish I could fix everything. I read and watch the news and see so much pain and suffering going on around the world. It makes me want to come up with solutions for everybody. So I've been reading a lot, trying to come up with ideas for how I can be constructive and help alleviate people's pain.
What do you wish was different about American government?
Don't get me started. Just off the top of my head, I wish they would make a sincere commitment to reducing poverty. I wish it didn't take a hurricane for them to realize that the poor truly need help. I wish they would ensure that all of our children had access to quality education. I wish they would end the so-called "war on drugs." Prohibition almost never works. I wish they would come up with real solutions to deal with the energy crisis.
We're not going to be able to live off of Saudi Arabian oil forever. I wish health care was universally available. I wish politicians truly governed with some sense of idealism and they actually cared about the public and not just about getting re-elected and consolidating their power.

Which concerts do you wish you attended this year?
I've been trying to catch Coldplay this year, but I was always doing my own show whenever they were playing near me.
What places do you wish you performed at?
I don't know. I played all the places I wanted this year, either on my own or with Alicia Keys. I guess the only thing left is Madison Square Garden!
What hobbies do you wish you had more time to pursue?
I want to cook more. I haven't made myself a meal in months.
What other musical skills do you wish you had?
I really want to learn how to play the guitar. I think that'll be a sexy look for me. Plus I want to learn how to program drums.
What movies do you wish you had seen this year? Or wish you had a role in?
I wish I had a role in Hitch. That movie was funny and, while I was on the road, it made me reminisce about being back on the scene in NYC.
What relationship skills do you wish you were better at?
Since I'm on the road so much, I need to get better at talking on the phone.
Women I date misinterpret me a lot when we talk on the phone and I end up pissing them off sometimes. I'm much better with face-to-face communication. I guess because it's much easier and more fun to make up after an argument when she's in the room.
Which celebrity's party do you wish you had and/or had not attended?
I'm not into celebrity parties. I'd rather just hang out with some of my friends. But I guess I should go to a Diddy party before I die. They're legendary.
What thing do you wish you had not bought this year? Why?
I don't regret anything I've bought this year. I'm not too extravagant. I'm thrifty (cheap!), like my dad.
What song were you hoping to hear a remix for this year?
My song “So High.” So I went ahead and did one with Ms. Hill.
What track do you wish you were on this year? Why?
“Turn Da Lights Off“ by Tweet. I love it. I wish it got more airplay.
Which song on your album do you wish had radio airplay?
"Live it Up". Maybe soon.
Who is that one person you wished you could've went on one date with this year?
Hmmm... Rosario Dawson or Jessica Alba would be good. I just watched Sin City on my flight.
Which food do you wish you hadn't eaten this year? Why?
Some omelet I ate in London had me doubled over. Shouldn't have eaten that.
What's one trend that you could've did without this year?
Why does everybody have to have a camera phone? The pictures don't even look that good.
Who do you wish you could've vacationed with this year? Why?
I just wish I had a vacation this year! I was on the road non-stop.
What designer do you wish you could have modeled for or been a spokesperson for this year?
I don't know. Who's willing to pay me the most?
Who and/or what made the biggest impact on your life this year?
The success of my album had the biggest impact on my life. I got to travel the world and do what I love everyday. Plus I was able to make some money and help my family.
What artist were you expecting to come back this year?
The Fugees. It looks like it may be happening. It's exciting to see.
What's one new idea that you wish you could've thought of first this year? Example: Ipod Nano
I can't think of anything.
What do you wish your cell phone could've done this year?
I just want it to stop dropping my calls, damn it. How come wireless phone companies can't come up with decent service?
What's one thing you wish your tour bus had this year?
Wireless internet access.
What's one thing that you wish to get for Christmas?
I don't really think about gifts I want. If I want something, I usually won't wait long enough for someone else to get it for me. I just go to the store and get it. Sometimes, the best gifts are gifts that you didn't think you wanted or needed 'til you actually got it. Women are usually better gift-givers. I've always gotten outdone in the gift department by my girlfriends.
If you were granted one wish for 2005, what would you had wished for?
My year was about as good as I could've wished for. 2005 was about exactly what I wanted it to be.
